Neck and upper back that hold up all day
Neck pain often comes from a combination of sustained postures, limited thoracic mobility, and deconditioned deep neck flexors. It can refer pain into the shoulder blade, arm, or head — and headaches with a neck origin are extremely common.
Common symptoms
- — Stiffness turning your head or checking blind spots
- — Pain between the shoulder blades
- — Tension headaches starting at the base of the skull
- — Numbness or tingling into the arm or hand
- — Symptoms that worsen with desk or phone time
What causes it
- — Prolonged static postures at a desk or in the car

Questions we get
Are my headaches coming from my neck?
Often, yes. If your headache starts at the base of the skull and changes with neck position, cervicogenic headache is likely and responds well to treatment.
Is tingling in my hand serious?
It's worth evaluating promptly. Most cases are irritation rather than damage, but we screen for anything that needs a physician.
